Try not to throw a med kit at your opponent.
How you order your items in Fortnite is just as important as what weapons you have. It helps to order them in an order you think it useful. Using the same ordering each time makes it easier to switch from one item to another when under pressure.
For example, starting from left to right, I run an inventory that looks like:
AR
SMG/spray weapon
Shotgun
Shields or Heals
Mobility or Sniper
When I’m in a battle, would start with the AR, then switch one item to the right to my SMG for closer range, then go in for the finish with my shotgun. I keep the shields out of the way.
Other people have different strategies. Just pick an organizational approach that you like, and stick to it so you can develop some consistency.
Once you’ve figured out how to organize your items, you can have Fortnite automatically sort items and place them into your preferred slots. In the settings menu, you’ll find a section that lets you turn this on, and then lets you define what items you want and where. Take a few minutes before your next game and configure this. It will make a huge difference in the quality of your gameplay.
