The weapon names are confusing. Here are some tips for getting them straight.

While you don’t have to reload the blasters, it’s really hard to know the weapons by name. Their names are an ugly mix of letters and numbers. Here’s how to get them straight, along with some tips that are helping me:
Which is the shotgun?
The shotguns are short and stubby looking. There are two available.:
- The BARM one is like an auto shotgun.
- The ACP one is more like the pump shotgun – shoots slower, but hits very heavy.
My advice: Look for the letters BARM or ACP to know which is which. My preference is for the ACP, since that suits my style of play. The ACP is also great for finishing shots if your SMG has overheated.
Where’s the AR?
- The A280 one is closest to the Holo AR from the previous season. It’s my preference.
My advice: Look for the letters A280 and get that if you like a versatile AR.
And the SMG?
This is where it gets fun.
- The F11D shoots super fast and is a great follow-on to a well-places shotgun blast. It’s my preference and I really like it.
- The pistol blaster sucks. I don’t bother with it.
- The E11 is also lousy. Avoid it unless it’s the only one you have.
My advice: use the F11D. It shoots so fast it’s you can shred someone esp if you catch them off guard.
Not having to reload changes gameplay
Here are my biggest strategy changes now that I don’t have to reload:
- After killling someone, you don’t have to run over their things to pickup ammo. If you have weapons you like, just kill them and keep moving.
- You can shred cars, X-Wings. and Tie Fighters without worrying about wasting ammo. You should take advantage of this.
- You can put pressure on people hiding behind trees or even at a long distance without feeling like you wasted ammo.
This also means that you can be on the wrong end of the above tips. If your car is weak, get out while you can.
Mobility is critical
Given that cars and shelter can be shredded so fast, mobility is really important.
He who fights and run away, lives to fight another day
Bob Marley, maybe
Learn to use shockwaves, know how to get in and out of cars, and be ready to run from a fight. Shockwaves are an especially good investment in your time. They are available in most seasons, so the skill carries over time.
What about the Sabers?
They’re fun, and I like to get them, but they’re also gimmicky. It’s easy to get distracted using one. Often times, good basic gameplay with an AR, shotgun, and SMG are better and more reliable, esp since it’s a skill that carries across seasons. But this is a game and they’re super fun to use. I got a kill with the saber and electroshock in my first game, very fun.
That’s all for now. See you out there!
